STFU, Celebrities

This is kind of everything I hate about fame in America, in a nutshell.

I’m not going to lie: I’m pretty much from the school of “Children Should Be Seen and Not Heard.” Seriously, unless you’re unbearably adorable (rare) or particularly talented (even more rare), go somewhere and play. That goes double if you’re under the age of twelve.

I also loathe nepotism, and I wish there was some kind of ban on celebrities’ kids getting to play “I Have a Career Too!” This kid’s on Jay-Z’s record label, and she’s rumored to be starting a fashion line. And she’s nine. What the fuck. Meanwhile, there are actual talented adult singers and designers out there toiling away in obscurity.

The song in question, by the way, is called “Whip My Hair.” Yeah. It sounds exactly like that. Even I’m not mean enough to tell a nine year old to STFU (unless one’s kicking my seat at the theater) …. so I’ll just direct this one at the parents instead. Lo: Parent your damn kids already, let them actually have a childhood, and stop trying to feed your egos and line your pockets with your fuck trophies’ accomplishments.
